THE SOUTHAMPTON club continued its winning ways at this year's Regional Sports Acrobatics Championships.

With a record level of entrants, the competition was spread over two days at Redbridge Community School and Salto Club, Andover.

SAGC took a large squad of over 80 gymnasts, representing not only its Elite squad and Team gym, but also several of its satellite centres from the area.

And, once again, the club dominated the event, scooping a total of 12 gold, seven silver and four bronze medals alongside many outstanding performances.

The Warren sisters had a successful family outing, with sisters Kirsty, Hayley, Kelly and Danielle winning one gold and three silvers between them.

Kirsty combined with Bronnagh Merrell to take the Intermediate 3 Women's Pairs title with the duo of Helen Briggs and Lydia Williams just behind in second.

Denise Morris, Jennifer Porter and Maryam Amibaba combined to earn silver in the Intermediate Women's group event, pushing the trio of Michelle Warren, Lucie Renny and Chloe Wren into bronze.

And, in the Intermediate 4 Women's group event, Amanda Turner, Emma Gregory and Kitty Dyer claimed silver with Rachel Buckman, Kirsty Warren and Jade Allen in third.

Lydia Smith and Sian Ecclestone finished top in the women's Intermediate 4 pairs, with John Murray and James Auger also taking first place in the men's.

Matthew Flye and Cassie Beale collected gold for their efforts in the FIG mixed Pairs while Nicola Quiney and Charlotte Franklin finished top in the women's.

Abigail Marsh and Rachel Easton won the junior women's pairs with Matthew and Holly Downing taking gold in the mixed event and Matthew Gregory and Kirsty Fargher also finishing top in the senior mixed.

Emily Frampton, Kelly Page and Carly Andrews were victorious in the junior women's group while Caroline Turner, Donna Barden and Jessica Smith came first in the senior category.

In tumbling, Danielle King, Sian Ecclestone, Rowan Mitchell and Denise Morris all won gold while Emma Gregory, Christine Ferrier, Danielle Warren and James Auger each finished second and Alison Briggs scooped bronze.
