THE jury in the trial of a family accused of allowing a baby to die of a methadone overdose is expected to begin its deliberations today.
Luke Bowyer, 27, and his estranged wife Jacquietta Bowyer, 39, formerly of Berwyn Close, Buckskin, Basingstoke, together with Jacquietta's 19-year-old daughter Claire Gormley, of Warndon, Worcester, deny the manslaughter of Luke and Jacquietta's 22-month-old son, Jacksa, in June last year.
In the trial at Winchester Crown Court, they are all accused of being responsible for the baby's death, by neglecting to get treatment for him after he swallowed the methadone on June 4 and died during the night.
