A local parcel distribution delivery company has won an industry first.

The Institute of Transport Management (ITM) has recognised Nightspeed Services as the best overall parcel carrier in its 25-year history.

The Institute has awarded its Silver Jubilee Parcel Carrier accreditation to the Southampton company following research conducted over the last 25 years into developments within the parcel carrier sector.

The award committee commented that the requirement for quality and efficiency in next-day delivery is increasing due to e-commerce.

Nightspeed offers clients comprehensive IT-controlled distribution which is focussed on security and low damage which impressed judges.

Patrick Sheedy, of the ITM and chairman of the awards committee, said "The institute is very excited about its silver jubilee, and is making a concerted effort to make it most beneficial to its members.

"In recognising Nightspeed as the best overall Parcel Carrier of its 25 year history, the institute believes that it is recognising one of the most dedicated, customer-orientated organisations to have ever received an EITM Award."
