A NEW telephone number for Fareham and Gosport social services is now in operation.
Charged at a local rate, the new number is 0845 600 4555. This will also be the number to call to access social services' out-of-hours service and Social Services Direct.
The direct service offers advice and information about the range of social services that are available when offices are closed and can also be used for out-of-hours emergencies.
Hampshire County Council's executive member for social care Felicity Hindson said: "We always try to make it as easy as possible for people to make contact with social services. This new telephone number will mean those from Fareham and Gosport will now only need to call one number to get in touch with us, during the day or out of hours."
