DAVID Lamport has made a dream start in his first year of kick-boxing by clinching two world titles.
The Cannings Martial Arts fighter has just returned from Odense in Denmark as a member of the British squad.
He beat an Italian in the sparring final 6-4, before returning to win the continuous section, which he dominated.
Kyle Cannings defended the continuous over-5ft 6in world title he won in Sicily but this time had to settle for a silver medal.
In the recent British nationals at Hampton Court, Jamie Jenrich won a gold in the men's continuous section, while Kyle Cannings picked up another British title.
The local club also had success in the Southern Open series finale at Crowthorne as the overall champions were decided.
Sisters Samantha and Kelly Warrington, Lamport, Jema Kynaston, Jenrich and Kyle Cannings all won championship trophies.
CMA had two students successfully graded for their black belts. Jennrich and Joe Cleary spent four hours in Farnborough under Dan Taylor of Southern Freestyle Karate and Kick-boxing.
The duo will be presented with their certificates and embroidered belts at the SFKK Christmas party.
Earlier, CMA went to Essex for the last tournament of an eliminator series to find a true British champion.
There are four tournaments through the year and the winners fights each other before facing last year's champion.
David Lamport won the 125cm points and continuous, giving him two golds on the day.
He then fought in the evening show against last year's winners and won both sections again, making him the British National Martial Arts British champion, one of five now at the club.
Sam Warrington won both eliminators and then fought off for the title, winning one and losing one. But she took the 9-11 years British title in points.
Kelly Warrington had some good fights but didn't make it through to the eliminator in the 12-14 years instructors group.
Kyle Cannings won both his points and continuous sections to keep his title for a sixth year.
Jennrich won the men's under 5 ft 8in class with ease. In the fight-off for the title he came up against a heavier and more experienced fighter but lost by only a single point.
Sam and Kelly Warrington are looking for sponsorship so they can travel to Ireland for their next big test. Anyone who can help is asked to telephone their mother Carol on 01256 417960.
