THERE'S nothing dull about this award-winning documentary about gun crime in America by social commentator Michael Moore.

The film, which takes a fiercely critical look at gun control and the National Rifle Association in America, centres on the massacre at Columbine High School and features terrifying original CCTV footage from the cafeteria on the day of the killings.

Colourful and seemingly unhinged gun-toting characters abound in this unsettling depiction of a society armed to its teeth and the film is packed with jaw-dropping revelations about guns in America - there is even a bank which gives its customers a free gun when they open an account!

Moore interviews several key figures, including Marilyn Manson, whose music was partially blamed for the Columbine killings.

Despite being a documentary the film has a showdown which is as dramatic as anything Hollywood could dream up when Moore confronts NRA president Charlton Heston, encouraging him to reveal more about his personal politics than he probably liked - Ben Hur will never be the same again.
