Runrig bring their five-date Stamping Ground Tour to Portsmouth Guildhall on Tuesday night.
The band released their 16th album, The Stamping Ground, last year, which saw them return to their traditional roots.
The recording process for The Stamping Ground started life with an ethnic drum session at CaVa in Glasgow, followed by a fortnight's lock-in at Lundgaard Studios in Denmark, then back again to Scotland for the next few months. Constantly breaking the mould yet remaining true to the Runrig ethos, it involved input from Brazil in the shape of Celtic fusionist Paul Mounsey, and production work in Denmark from new Runrig sound engineer, Kristian Gislason.
The Stamping Ground has been hailed by critics and fans alike as one of Runrig's best albums yet.
December 10, Portsmouth Guildhall. Tickets: £19. Box office: 023 9282 4355.
