IDLEWILD are certainly a band not scared of change. Their recent album, The Remote Part, released earlier this year, is a million miles away from their previous work, which had a far rockier edge.
The band have also been forced to recruit Gavin Fox as bass player following the departure of Bob Fairfoull.
They released their debut album, Hope Is Important, at the end of 1999 before the follow-up 100 Broken Windows, which contained the singles Little Discouragement and Roseability.
The Remote Part has already spawned the singles American English and Live In A Hiding Place and sees the band adopt an almost Smiths-style sound. PG
