RITE of passage stories are commonplace these days , but Alice in Wonderland is still the only one that involves the main protagonist disappearing down a rabbit hole.
Using a variety of storytelling techniques from around the world, with music and magical effects, Alice A Musical draws you into the crazy world of Wonderland, where the young heroine is desperately searching for her place in the crazy adult world.
Alice doesn't only have to cope with bizarre characters who keep demanding to know who she is but also with being the right size, finding herself growing to the size of the room.
The show has everyone's favourite characters from Lewis Carroll's novel - the stressed white rabbit, the Mad Hatter and his tea party guests, the Cheshire Cat with his permanent grin and the blood-thirsty Red Queen.
Until January 4, The Haymarket Theatre, Basingstoke. Tickets: from £8.50. Box office: 01256 465566.
