Regulars at The White Swan are on a diet - to put on weight.
The Greene King pub in Winchester's Hyde Street is running a competition to win your weight in beer.
Said landlord, Iain Reay: "It's amazing! Suddenly, everyone is turning their backs on salads and stuffing themselves with our steak and kidney pie and chips.
"The prize is the equivalent of the winner's weight in pints, so everyone is trying to pile on the pounds."
Customers are given a card to be stamped when they buy a pint. When full, it will be entered into a prize draw.
Iain, who has run the pub for the past year, added: "This is proving a hugely-popular promotion, as every customer has the chance of winning.
"I'm expecting sales of crisps and peanuts to go up, too, as the heavier the winner, the more beer they win."
The weigh-in will be on Tuesday, December 17th at 9.30pm
