A Peter Symonds' College romance in Winchester 10 years ago led to Kirstie Cavers and Matthew Rowe tying the knot.
The couple, who met as 16-year-olds studying at the city sixth form college in 1992, married at the Headland Hotel, in Newquay, Cornwall and after honeymooning in New Zealand, plan to return to the city where they were introduced.
Matt, son of Sandra and Earle Rowe, of Colden Common, works for Hampshire County Council and Kirstie, daughter of Gail Green and the late David Cavers, works for Alan Saunders Associates in Winchester.
Their civil ceremony reflected their respective sporting interests. The top tier of the wedding cake depicted an iced replica of a cricket ball, bat, stumps and bails, while the bottom tier showed an iced cross-country jump and a riding hat in the bride's colours.
The cake was made by Kirstie's mother and decorated by family friend, Lyn Atkins.
Kirstie wore a bodice of ivory silk with a crystal trim, matching Tulsa skirt and detachable train, and she carried a teardrop bouquet of red roses. Her bridesmaid, Emma Bradley, wore a strapless gown of burgundy satin and carried a posy of cream roses.
The groom, together with Kirstie's stepfather, Philip Green, best man, Rob Harris and ushers, Simon Rowe and Rupert Cameron, wore traditional morning dress.
At the couple's request, guests donated to the Wessex Cancer Trust instead of buying wedding presents and raised £1,400.
