Jane Sixsmith, arguably Great Britain's best known women's hockey player, stands between Trojans and a place in the fifth round of the EHA Cup on Sunday.
The much-capped GB Olympics star, who scores goals for fun, leads the Sutton Coldfield attack against Trojans at Wellington, 1pm.
Trojans, who will be without teenage World Cup ace Alex Danson, acknowledge the importance of the tie.
"Sutton Coldfield lie just one place above us in the Premier League relegation zone, so there's much more than a cup-tie at stake.
"Whoever wins will get a timely pre-Christmas morale booster in terms of league survival - and we must ensure it is us who get it," emphasised Trojans' team manager Lou Carter.
Trojans II, meanwhile, remain top of Hampshire League Division 2 after a 2-0 win over Andover (Cockerill, Okasa), but Southampton are losing ground in South Division 1 after a goalless draw with lowly Tulse Hill & Dulwich.
Southampton totally dominated proceedings, but were unable to find the killer-touch in front of goal needed to finish off the South Londoners and were constantly thwarted by the Dulwich goalkeeper.
Teenagers Hollie Nutt and Kathryn Raw caught the eye as Southampton II lost 3-0 to Division 1 leaders Aldershot & Farnham, while Charlotte Leathem and Karina Christensen scored in the III's 2-3 reverse against Gregarians.
Fareham remain bottom of Division 2 after a 5-2 loss to Havant.
