It took them extra time to do it, but Winchester City now have two Wessex League scalps tucked proudly under their belts.
After knocking Lymington & New Milton out of the Russell Cotes Cup, they got the better of Gosport Borough 3-2 last night to book their place in the quarter-finals of the Hampshire Senior Cup.
Borough twice took the lead through Ian Rew and Perry Holland, but twice the Hampshire League leaders hit back in normal time.
Andy Forbes bagged the first - his 32nd goal of the season - and when he struck the post in the 79th minute, the ball flew in off the unfortunate Rew.
It was Winchester skipper Danny Smith who had the last word with a fine individual goal 23 minutes into extra-time.
Winchester's triumph will come as ominous news to Wessex League outfit Brockenhurst, who face John Robson's giantkillers in the FA Vase at Grigg Lane this Saturday.
Paul Sales made it four goals in four games since returning from injury to pave Bashley's way into the last eight.
But it was 21-year-old Craig Davis who proved the Foresters' ultimate hero in a 2-1 victory at struggling Fleet Town.
Bash took a 26th-minute lead when Sales headed in Darren Robson's corner, but Fleet retaliated through skipper Rob Marshall and nearly scored again ten minutes from time when Jamie Bull clattered the upright.
Extra time was beckoning until Davis buried the 89th-minute winner after Sales had headed down Craig Anstey's cross.
It was Sales's first full 90 minutes since his groin operation and manager Barry Blankley said: "I toyed with taking him off 20 minutes from time but he wanted to play on. It was a big test for him on a heavy pitch but he came through it well.
"Fleet battled hard and most probably think they deserved something out of the game."
Basingstoke crushed Ringwood Town 7-1 at the Camrose Ground through Neville Roach (2), Jason Graham (2), David Ray, Craig McAllister and Kevin Gibbens, but Aldershot Town were given the fright of their lives.
Despite fielding a strong side, the Ryman League leaders and Cup holders were three minutes away from an embarrassing defeat by Wessex outfit Bournemouth Poppies.
Jamie Taylor, who had got Shots off the mark, eventually spared their blushes with two late goals. But it was rough luck on the Poppies who had scored through a Steve Collins penalty - for which Dominic Sterling was sent off - and a Sam Bryning header.
