ONE of Britain's coolest cats breezed into a Southampton factory yesterday to meet some of the staff. Tom Cat - the footloose feline star of the award-winning Bacardi Breezer ads - visited the company's Southampton sites on West Bay Road and in Swaythling.
Adoring fans crowded round the swinging moggy, famous for chasing birds and strutting his stuff on dance floors from Miami to Prague in the ads.
His popular advert campaign has kept business rolling in to pubs and bars everywhere and helped make Breezer one of the leading brands in the country.
But now the tabby has starred in his last advertisement. His life flashes before his eyes in the ad - Nine Lives - as a TVR Griffiths coming crashing towards him at the rate of knots.
Childhood memories of his adoption by Nana - aka Joan Campion,, who accompanied the cuddly kitty on his tour - are followed up by snapshots from the previous six ads in the campaign.
Driver Lisa Faulkner - star of Holby City - looks devastated as she waits with baited breath to see if Tom has met his tail end.
Fans can find out tonight in the debut screening of the commercial which will show during the Phantom Menace on ITV.
Staff at the West bay Road site were thrilled to meet the moggy - real name Glitters - and his on-screen owner.
Joan said she would miss Tom very much.
"We've bonded in our time together," she said.
