ASIAN elegance was matched with Western high street style on the catwalk at a charity fashion show.
Taunton's College in Shirley, Southampton, was the venue for Asian Invasion Sequel - showcasing the best of Asian fashion to a large and appreciative audience.
The fashion show, sponsored by Burton Menswear, P.O.S.H restaurant and Eastern Art Beauty, included a comedy act, live Asian music and dances performed by talented local youngsters.
The event was a sell-out, attracting around 150 people.
Amarjeet Bhakar, organiser of the show, said: "We had a lot of interest in the clothes from the audience and the models and entertainers that took part gave their all.
"What I liked most is that we used clothes from both Pakistan and India alongside suits and other garments from high street stores.
"Asian people are often portrayed in a negative light and we hope the fashion show helped to change some people's perceptions.
"I'm studying my A-levels at Taunton's at the moment but I would like to do something in the fashion industry in future, perhaps on the marketing side."
Proceeds from the show - around £450 - will go to the Leukaemia Research Fund.
