THE PERIOD between Christmas and New Year can sometimes be a bit flat - but not this year. Superstar DJ Judge Jules from Radio 1 will be headlining Spiral - The Christmas Ball on December 27 at Winchester Guildhall.

This is the first in a series of parties planned in the build-up to the opening of a new purpose-built nightclub in Winchester at the end of 2003.

Joining Judge Jules in the massive King Alfred Hall will be south coast DJs Paul Sawyer and Matt Flynn.

Notting Hill Carnival legend Norman Jay MBE will be headlining in the more intimate King Charles Suite.

He will be joined by Emma and Vicky B and Lady J.

The night will be a visual treat as well as an aural one, with jaw-dropping stage sets, impressive backdrops and stunning lighting promised as well as DJ/VJ Kriel interpreting the soundtrack with graphics.

THE Paradise Club has cancelled its Friday night R 'n' B/garage night, Class.

Fridays at the club in Hanover Buildings, Southampton are now Revival.

In Room One you will hear the best club and dance anthems from the early Nineties to the present day, while in Room Two you can party to commercial R 'n' B and party anthems.

Entry is free before 10pm, £2 before midnight and £5 after.

TOP DJ Lisa Pin-Up will be coming to the Paradise Club's RPM night on December 7.

She will be playing superclub dance in Room One, while Room Two will feature commercial dance and party anthems.

EIGHTIES pop star turned superstar DJ Boy George will be at the Magnum Club next month.

George, who shot to fame in 1982 as Culture Club's flamboyant lead singer, has shrugged off the eighties and carved out a career behind the decks.

With regular appearances at such clubs as Cream, Gatecrasher and God's Kitchen as well as his own mix albums, he has become one of the country's top DJs.

George's Dj-ing has taken him all over the world from Austria to Australia via the obligatory stop in Ibiza, and now it's bringing him to Southampton.

He will be performing at the Magnum Club on St Mary's Road on December 13.
