WHIZZ KIDS at a Warsash school are making the most of their computer skills after a dedicated Information Technology suite was opened.
Pupils at Hook-with-Warsash school can take advantage of the latest computer equipment that includes interactive control of 32 brand new work stations.
Costing £50,000, with £10,000 coming from fundraisers and donations by the school's parent, teachers and friends association, the IT suite is the latest addition to the school that already has beacon status.
Head teacher Christopher Hines said: "The IT suite is a huge achievement for the school, it means teaching can be dedicated to a whole class at a time.
"It was made possible by a combination of government funding, the school budget and a fantastic parental contribution of £10,000."
Meanwhile pupils at the school have been writing letters to fellow pupils in St Lucia during a Caribbean project.
Now they can boast pen pals in the tropical island and have already sent books over as a greeting gift.
Librarian Sandy Wallace said: "The school did some fundraising to help pay for books to be sent to St Lucia organised through the county library service. From their studies the children knew that many parts of the island are not rich and that by sending books would really help the children over there."
It was nothing short of first class travel for the books as they were given to Captain Rory Smith of the cruise ship Oriana to be taken to St Lucia.
