AN Andover woman has donated blood warming equipment to Winchester's Royal Hampshire County Hospital in memory of her husband, former Winton School science teacher Vic Pruden.
Anne Pruden and her family raised the money towards the cost of a blood warmer machine, a vital piece of equipment for patients needing frequent blood transfusions.
It was a crucial part of the treatment received by Mr Pruden at the hospital.
Mrs Pruden said: "Every time Vic came to hospital he needed to have a blood transfusion.
"The blood warmer was a very important machine for him and there are not many of them at the hospital.
"We wanted to buy one in Vic's memory so that others can benefit from the treatment."
Dr Chris James, consultant haematologist, said: "We are terribly grateful for the donation to purchase this important piece of equipment which makes transfusions for patients with blood disorders easier and safer."
