A goal in each half by Gary Watts and Neil Hanley gave Southampton a 2-0 win over basement boys Blandford and cemented third spot in Hampshire League Division 1.
Held by Haslemere in a six-goal thriller the previous week, Southampton grabbed an early initiative with Watts firing home from a short corner.
It needed some good saves from goalkeeper Paul Howarth to keep Southampton's noses in front as Blandford pressed for an equaliser.
But Southampton, whose second eleven lie bottom of the Hampshire/Surrey Regional League after a 3-1 defeat at Bournemouth, weathered the visitors pressure and bagged a second through Hanley five minutes from time.
It was the first time in eight matches this season that Southampton had kept a clean sheet.
