Two out of ten Southampton FA Senior Cup ties were played - one a close affair the other a 5-0 mauling.
Not surprisingly, Hampshire Combination table-propers Fawley Reserves proved no match for Premier Division Pirelli General who steamrollered the underdogs with a pair apiece from Jim Bedford and Pete Kelly with Steve Trott also getting in on the act. Pirelli now entertain Blackfield Reserves for a place in the quarter-finals.
The other match went all the way to extra time before Hamble ASSC Reserves took the tie against Ordnance Survey 3-2.
Pete Knight and Tim Croucher put the Aero 2-0 up but Steele Saunders and Tim Lawrence took the tie into extra time. Ross Harrison scored the winner with just three minutes of extra time played.
The win sets up a potentially exciting derby prospect at Netley Central Sports.
