A GROUP of Southampton cadets have been rewarded for their exceptional map reading abilities.
The young recruits won the orienteering trophy at the Hampshire Cup Challenge, during which they were set a number of challenging tasks.
Assault courses, a march and shoot, drill and turnout, first aid and a tug-of- war were among the other activities for the youngsters, aged 13 to 16, who took part.
The competition - held at Longmoor training area, near Bordon, in north-east Hampshire - is aimed at younger cadets.
