The National Under-13s southern qualifier will be held at Chandler's Ford Snooker Club tomorrow. Local hopefuls Alex Merriman, Dan Hildyard and Jordon Lewis play for a place in the last 32 in the country in London.

In club tournaments, two of the top local players from the 1980s teamed up to win the Chandler's Ford Doubles on Sunday.

David Mumford and Paul Solloway, who helped Winchester Snooker Club lift the league title many moons ago, made the final and won £42 each.

Young hotshot Mike Finn (17) and James Gray also won £42 by reaching the final but, due to the large number of entries, it could not be played. Finn is on a high since his first century break, a 104.

In Thursday's singles, Southampton's Steve Boterhoak and Mike Daly from Hedge End won £80 each with Rory Lord and Paul Whapshott picking up £25 for semi-final placings. Carlo Cavagnetto won the £15 plate.

For junior players, the club held a Steve Davis Tournament in which the winners from the Under-13 and 17 age group met in the final. Sixty-two players attended and Stewart Crosswell (16) beat Matt Woods (11) to win the trophy in its first year. Both players will receive their prizes from Steve Davis at the club in February.
