IT TAKES a certain type of band to make folk rock cool - but the Levellers have managed it perfectly.
The maverick travellers of rock, they regularly play more than 200 gigs a year from Glastonbury Festival to the more obscure likes of Estonia and Japan.
In addition to touring as the Levellers, the band also play the occasional gig as Drunk In Public - the name they use for their acoustic shows.
Their live gigs under their more familiar name, though, are always a riotous affair with songs like One Way, Just The One, Hope Street and What A Beautiful Day always going down a storm.
The band released their seventh studio album Green Blade Rising in September, which saw them returning to a more up-tempo style. Songs like Wild as Angels, Pretty Target and first single Come On have already become live favourites. PG
