Forty members of staff from King Alfred's College are taking on the challenge of painting and refurbishing All Saints School and Community Hall in Winchester, in 24 hours this Friday.
The 'challenge Anneka'-style event is being seen by the departments involved as a chance for team-building whilst developing existing links with the local community.
This day of role-reversals will see Vice-Principal, Tommy Geddes serving lunchtime refreshments to the workers and the Director of Campus and Conference Services, Jane Wiggins painting under the supervision of members of her team.
Jane explained: "We are looking on this project as an important and useful team-building exercise; a chance to break down barriers within the departments so that people can work together on a project in a way in which they would not normally be working.
"It's also an opportunity for the College to be doing something worthwhile for the community it serves."
Materials for the revamp have been supplied by local companies and organisations.
