A new leaflet featuring the work of Friends of Winchester Cathedral has been published with the help of retirement property specialist, English Courtyard.

The full-colour leaflet, A Little Piece of England, focuses on the work of the Cathedral's 3,900 Friends who have donated over £2m to renovation and other projects since their foundation in 1931.

English Courtyard chairman, Noel Shuttleworth, visited Winchester and met Friends' chairman, Paul Bray, general secretary, Sue Lidbury and trustee, Michael Call, for a personal tour of the Cathedral and lunch to celebrate the leaflet's launch.

Commented Mr Shuttleworth: "The Friends play a vital role in maintaining the fabric and enhancing the beauty of Winchester Cathedral. I sincerely hope that the new leaflet will help them to recruit more members and continue to enrich the experience of all who visit and worship in this most wonderful building."
