ENGLAND World Cup hero Sir Geoff Hurst brought a football bounty to teams across Southampton.
The legendary player, who scored a hat-trick in the 1966 World Cup, arrived with 1,000 footballs destined for schools and community teams from the city.
The balls were a gift from burger giant McDonald's, which vowed to give away 500 balls for every goal scored by England in the recent St Mary's Stadium Euro 2004 qualifier with Macedonia.
England's disappointing 2-2 draw was good fortune for young Southampton players though, meaning they scored 1,000 brand new balls.
