CHARLIE CHILDS rolled back the years to extend Generation II's lead at the top of the Southampton League Premier Division last week.
The Fareham based-team was inspired by a hat-trick from their veteran skipper to defeat a weakened Snows A team 8-2.
The defeat of Snows A, coupled with Waterside A's 8-2 victory over Snows D has moved Waterside into second place.
Howard Davies and Christos Hannides both won all of their games, while Colin Thompson chipped in with one win. Keith Middleton and Vincent Uppelschoten both won once for the losers.
Pete Richardson won the second game for bottom team Insurance A when he beat George Cole 11-5 in the fifth.
Both Robin Plunkett and Don Child were undefeated for Snows B in their 9-1 victory.
The fourth game of the evening finished up a 6-4 win for Alpha A over Snows C.
Rod McMullan scored a maximum while Danny Lucking won twice and Stuart Williams once for the winners. Two games from Julian Walton and one from Andy Phillips, plus the doubles were the Snows winners.
With a blank week for the lower divisions just a few rearranged matches were played.
Waterside B move to the top of Division One after winning their match in hand 7-3 over Ordnance Survey A.
Geoff Willis won both of his games and Rick Morris winning once plus the doubles and three walkovers to give Waterside their seven games.
Phil Allen won twice and Bob Pollard once for Ordnance Survey.
With a 6-4 victory over Hedge End B, Woolston B have moved to the top of Division Two.
Feming Alison with another maximum, is still holding on to his 100 per cent record.
Rod Dudley and Colin Campbell both won once for the victors.
Colin Browning and Shapour Mehrkar both had a brace of wins for the losers.
Two win each from Rowland Spencer-Smith and John Slade and the doubles gave Waterside F an excellent 6-4 victory over Waterside E.
Kieran Earl won the other game to give the F team the victory. Tony Tidswell won twice, with Albert Harding and Dan Ashton each winning once for the E side.
Although there were no set fixtures for last week there are some late results and results from postponed matches.
Simmarians did well to hold Division Three leaders Four Ts C to a draw, with John Simonds and Brian Thacker each winning two and Pat Edghill one.
Martin Ceresa continued his unbeaten record for Four Ts and one from Steve Lumb plus the doubles gave Four Ts their two points.
Several deuce games suggested that the match between BAT C and Waterside J was close.
But Waterside came out the winners by six games to four.
Mike Palmer played well to win his three, Dave Wan won two including a close 21-23, 7-21, 22-24 game with Witek Qttembrajt.
Witek won one and Richard McLure two for the losers.
Southampton West B were in action twice with the team of Alistair Jones, Nicola Dunkason and Don Whicher beating their D team 9-1, but losing 6-4 to their C team.
David Wills was the winner for the C team, while David McBeath returned a 'straight games' maximum for the D team, with Dominic Cheeseman and Daniel Orman winning one each.
