Trojans ladies are off the mark at last - and set for an EHA Women's Cup fourth round clash against Sutton Coldfield on December 8 after crushing Amersham & Chalfont 7-0.

Anchored to the foot of the EHA Premier League table and without a win since last season's promotion triumph, newly promoted Trojans badly needed a cup pick-me-up.

And they got it after dominating against the Buckinghamshire club.

It took 19 minutes before Ali Wakefield fired Trojans ahead from a penalty flick, but once Judith Coe (24) and Kathryn James (33) had extended the lead, the outcome was never in doubt.

Two goals in 90 seconds by the dashing coach Tamsin Pascoe underlined Trojans superiority.

The promising Nadine Devereux (51) and Lucy Steele (69) completed the rout.

Southampton share third place in South League Division 1 with Havant after being held 1-1 by Woking at the Sports Centre.

After holding leaders Epsom 2-2 the previous week, Southampton were confident of a fourth win in seven games.

But they fell behind and, despite the prompting of Sue Crowley, were still chasing the game well into the second-half.

Southampton's pressure eventually paid off and Naomi Dunn grabbed a late but well-earned equaliser.

Southampton III were no match for Trojans II, who consolidated top spot in Hampshire League Division 2 with a 4-0 win.

Ama Okafor, Georgie Cornick, Tamsin Pascoe and Ann Mitchell got the Trojans goals.
