Gareth Ransley and Alex Adams were the star turns as Locks Heath roared to a NatWest Hampshire Under-16 Indoor Cricket Championship double against South Wilts and BAT Sports at The Rose Bowl.
Ransley cracked an undefeated 57 in the surprise 42-run win over much fancied South Wilts and was one of three Locks Heath batsmen to retire in the 22-run win over youthful BAT Sports.
Spinner Adams took five wickets in the two matches, including a 3-28 return against BAT Sports.
"The Locks Heath youngsters performed at a level they had not previously reached and played with a lot of promise and tactical awareness," praised watching Hampshire Under-17 coach Colin Beer.
The double lifted Locks Heath into an unprecedented second place in the 12-club championship and left Basingstoke & North Hants boasting the only unbeaten record.
Previously undefeated South Wilts got back to winning ways against BAT Sports, but were denied a 12-point maximum by 11-year old Wadir Khan, who scored a superb 46 not out.
