A local artist with a passion for the sea and landscape will be holding a major exhibition of paintings at Chilworth Manor Hotel over the weekend of November 23 and 24.
Nigel Ingram, who has taught and painted in Hampshire and West Sussex for some 40 years, will be showing approximately 100 original works, all of which seek to capture the transient moods of sea, land and sky.
There are four series of pictures in the exhibition, which Nigel painted from various locations at Lee-on-the-Solent, Cheesefoot Head near Winchester, in the Mediterranean and the Pyrenees.
Gavin Elliott, director and general manager of Chilworth Manor said: "Not only am I pleased to be supporting a local artist and the cultural life of the community, I was very impressed with the paintings Nigel has shown me. I have the highest regard for his work and will be encouraging our guests to visit the show.''
Nigel Ingram studied fine arts at the West Sussex College of Art, and later worked with Ronald Dunlop RA and attended the Royal Academy Schools. Further study took place in Paris and at Southampton University. His work is held by a number of European collectors.
