THE Hampshire FA has launched a countywide search for amateur or professional photographers who can best capture the 'changing face of football' on film.

A range of prizes, including a digital camera, are up for grabs in what is Hampshire FA's first ever competition, being run in conjunction with the London Camera Exchange, Portsmouth and Harbour Lights Picture House, Southampton.

Photographers are being asked to submit photos of football in Hampshire at any level, which illustrate their perception of the modern day game.

As well as having the chance of winning prizes, BBC Southampton has agreed to showcase all entries at www.bbc.co.uk/southampton/sport which covers the whole of the county.

A selection of entries will also feature in an exhibition at the Harbour Lights Picture House and, with the photographers' permission, on the county FA's official website.

"The national game is no longer just about white male 11-a-side football. Times have changed," said Nicky Whiteman, assistant development manager at Hampshire FA.

"The FA's football development strategy across the country has created opportunities for girls and women, the disabled, and more ethnic minority players to participate in the game.

"And we want to see these and other initiatives like referee training and mini soccer coaching recorded on film."
