Table-toppers Eastleigh and unbeaten championship rivals Lymington & New Milton both donned their six-shooting boots to record impressive victories at the weekend.
Ten Acres' boss Paul Doswell rated Eastleigh's 6-1 demolition of Gosport as: "The complete away performance" while Linnets' manager Graham Kemp reckoned that their 6-0 battering of BAT at Fawcett's Field was their: "Best performance in the league this season."
Eastleigh took the lead at Gosport after 23 minutes when Stu Roberts scrambled the ball home from Danny Steer's corner kick and they doubled their advantage 90 seconds later as Dave Asker side-footed in his first-ever goal for the club.
Gosport's leading scorer Neil Scammell made it three goals in as many minutes when he headed in an Ian Rew free-kick to make it 2-1 before Eastleigh took over in the second half.
On 52 minutes, Steer cut in from the left and his cross was slotted home by Kevin Reacord, who notched his second of the game just five minutes later when he converted Robbie Matthews' flick-on.
A blistering and dipping 30-yard free-kick by Matthews made it 5-1 after 80 minutes and there was still time for David Laws to nutmeg a defender and stroke in a sixth goal.
"I would describe it as the complete away performance today, I reckon that we created eight chances and have put six of them away," purred Doswell, whose side was missing the injured quartet of David Hughes, Lee Bright, Warren Kenna and Christer Warren.
Lymington & New Milton are up to third in the table after a Steve Strong hat-trick helped them to a storming 6-0 success over the Tobaccomen.
Strong opened his account after 12 minutes with a rasping 25-yarder which flew into the bottom corner of the net before Anthony Tilley took advantage of some defensive hesistancy to make it 2-0 after 36 minutes.
Strong bagged his second from an acute angle before half-time and he duly completed his hat-trick on the hour mark with an 18-yard effort after BAT had failed to clear the ball cleanly.
Andy Jones then got away down the left flank and crossed for Kevin Gill whose shot was spilled by the 'keeper and Leigh Phillips pounced for number five. Gill completing a resounding scoreline with a terrific individual goal which saw him go past three defenders and slide the ball past the 'keeper.
"It was a best performance in the league this season and the first time that we've kept a clean sheet in consecutive matches," said Kemp.
The only other unbeaten side in the JWL are AFC Totton but, unlike his counterparts, Totton manager Ian Robinson was far from happy following his side's 1-1 draw with Wimborne at Testwood Park.
Striker Martin Whiddett had a late 'winner' disallowed for the home club and Robinson was raging: "I've no idea why it was disallowed because the referee just won't speak to me.
"At the start of the game they say that if you have any problems to go and speak to them and this happens - you get treated like a school kid and are waved away," he stormed.
Both goals came within three first-half minutes. Gareth Barnes got on the end of Stuart Cannie's through ball to give Wimborne the lead after 31 minutes with Whiddett heading in Mark Osman's cross to preserve Totton's unbeaten tag.
