Neil Taylor recorded one of the best bowling performances in the New Forest Indoor Cricket League's history to enable Bashley (Rydal) to beat Burley by four wickets in a Division 1 encounter at Lymington Sports Centre.
Les Browning (26) and Paul Yates (16) put Burley in a good position at 61-0 by the halfway stage but Taylor reduced them to 102 all out, taking 4-12 from 2.1 overs.
Bashley openers Simon Dean (27 ret) and Ross Grierson (26 ret) gave them a solid start and Brian Vibert hit 17no as they won with five balls left.
Lymington bludgeoned their way to 178-3 with Peter Tapper (42 no), Matt Molloy (29), Trevor Phillips (26 ret) and Wayne Smith (25 ret) all making hay as the side almost equalled the highest-ever team total in Division 1. Godshill were never in contention and, despite good knocks from John Hopkinson (28 ret) and Steve Dickens (25 ret), ended at 128-3.
The clash between the two Cadnam sides was a nailbiting affair after the second team were guided to 132-2 by Paul Jewer (29 ret) with Paul Kerley taking 2-32. Cadnam I made steady progress through Kerley (30no) and David Gate (32no) and they secured a three-wicket win off the last ball.
In Division 2, Lymington II slumped to their third successive defeat. Jerry Holt (28) and skipper Adie Hunt (26) game them a promising start but wickets tumbled to Bobby Paul (2-21) and Dave Morris (2-33) and they were restricted to 109-5.
Luigi di Maria (3-16) made inroads into the Bashley II reply before Neil Price (28) and Morris (29) steadied them. A late order slump could not stop Bashley from winning by one wicket with two balls to spare.
Jamie Snellgrove (38) was the mainstay of New Milton II's modest 92 all out and, although Ringwood lost wickets at regular intervals, Craig Seymour (27no) set up their two-wicket win off just 7.2 overs.
In Division 3 Rob Trotter (28 ret) and Charlie Moorman (21) did the early work for Burley II, who accelerated to 135-3 thanks to Colin Foster (26no) and Simon Rowley (24no off ten deliveries). Only Graham Toms (26 ret) got going as the Pennington/Wellworthy reply was halted at 116-2.
