POLICE are hunting an armed man who walked into a Hampshire family home and fired a gun last night.
Dressed in dark-coloured motorcycle clothing and wearing a helmet, he fired a single bullet before fleeing the scene on his bike.
The family, who were uninjured, were terrified by the incident. They are said to be "shocked and distressed".
The incident took place at 8pm when the gunman walked into the home at Leith Avenue, Port-chester through an unlocked front door.
At the time of the incident a 41-year-old man and his partner, a 32-year-old woman were in the house, along with their two children, a boy of two and girl of one.
Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed this incident or saw the motorcyclist leaving Leith Avenue to contact at Fareham CID station on 0845 045 4545. The operation is codenamed Salford.
