BOROUGH councillor for Winton Marion Kerley has commended the appointment of a community safety officer to tackle anti-social behaviour in the borough.
Speaking at Test Valley Borough Council's executive committee meeting, she said: "The role of this community officer will be to draw together all the existing work on anti-social behaviour, develop work on the use of acceptable behaviour contracts and anti-social behaviour orders and act as central point for the partner agencies as they work together to find long term solutions to the problems."
The executive committee unanimously supported the appointment.
The proposal has been agreed with the Government Office for the South East who will fund the post for one year.
