Craig David-baiting is the new rock 'n' roll.
At least it is if you're the pumped-up frontman of Suede.
Fortunately the catty comments directed at Southampton's favourite son were just one of many indications that Brett Anderson was back to his brashest best.
Pogoing across the stage throughout and getting the crowd going like a lunatic host at a Butlins for Britpop veterans, Brett was never anything less than enthusiastic.
With the rest of the band on blistering form and a new batch of songs under their belt, Suede proved they can still compete with the best of them.
From classics like Animal Nitrate and Metal Mickey to new releases like Obsession, the songs were spat out at a frenetic pace, giving the diehards what they came for and sending away scores of new converts.
Brett may have had his claws out for Craig David tonight but on this form he might soon find himself back up there at the top with our homegrown superstar.
