Level 42, Portsmouth Guildhall
THERE did not seem to be a spare seat in the house when Level 42 frontman Mark King popped over from the Isle of Wight to join his band on stage at Portsmouth Guildhall.
About 20 years after the band regularly topped the singles chart, Level 42 obviously still has a big following of die-hard fans.
As soon as Mark and co showed up, a good number of the audience leapt to their feet and rushed to the stage, where they stayed dancing and waving their arms around for the whole of the two-hour gig.
Surprisingly the band started off with a few lesser-known songs, before getting even more people up on their feet with hits like Running in the Family.
Their performance of the emotional It's Over was a memorable highlight.
