POPULAR south coast radio personality Richard Cartridge has taken time out from his afternoon BBC Radio Solent slot for "personal reasons".
Station bosses told the Daily Echo that Mr Cartridge, who has been absent from his show for a number of weeks, has taken time off, but will be returning.
His afternoon show - The Cartridge Selection - which is broadcast between 12.30pm and 4pm on weekdays, is being covered by David Allen in his absence.
A spokeswoman said: "The position is that for personal reasons he is taking some time off.
"We did broadcast something to our listeners. We are looking forward to him coming back sometime in the future." No date has yet been fixed.
Richard became a household name in the Eighties and was well known for his show with Sylvia Willoughby,
