Thousands of people gathered at Winchester Cathedral on Sunday to honour those who died fighting for their country.
The Dean of the Cathedral, the Right Revd Michael Till, led the service in the packed cathedral before moving outside to the war memorial.
Mary Fagan, Lord Lieutenant of Hampshire, led the laying of wreaths which followed a national two-minute silence.
The service particularly remembered the army chaplins who had served during the world wars and other conflicts of the 20th century.
