OLYMPIC prospect Vanessa Hobbs came back from the Speith Cup competition in Austria with three medals draped around her neck.
The Dynamo School of Gymnastics star, pictured right, helped Great Britain to team gold along with Emma Prest and Amy Dodsley from the Nottingham club.
The 15-year-olds held their own against 15 nations, beating the Ukraine and Holland on to the podium.
Among a strong individual field of 35 top internationals, Hobbs finished an impressive tenth. As usual she served up excellent routines on floor, vault and beam, but her weakness on the asymmetric bars cost her a medal.
Hobbs qualified for the beam and floor finals where she performed top quality work with only a few minor errors. Her sound beam routine brought bronze reward and, despite stumbling on a full-twisting back somersault, she completed a world-class floor routine which brought another bronze winging its way back to the Hedge End club.
It's all part of a meteoric rise for Fareham girl Hobbs. In the last year she has shot up from 35th to fourth in the British junior ranking list and is now receiving world class performance funding, as well as being part of the Olympic senior squad.
"It's exciting to see such an improvement in a relatively short time," said Dynamo's head coach Debbie Hampton. "Although we still have a lot of work to do on the bars, she is very much in the eye of the selectors for the Olympics in Athens.
"The next task for her is to play a major part in the world championships next year where she will need to qualify for the big one."
