POLICE are to target the A338 with hand-held speed cameras in a bid to reduce traffic speeds along the whole length of the road between Salisbury and Marlborough, Tidworth Parish Council heard.

When asked about the chance of there being a camera in the Pennings Road box Pc Bill Lomas confirmed that box does not contain a camera at all times.

"People can take the risk and crack on but if there is a double flash of the camera then they can be sure there will be a £60 penalty in the post," he said.

The hand-held cameras are to augment the 38 static camera's currently sited across the county.
