CUP games took centre stage last week in the NHL with Vernham Dean providing the highlight with their 3-1 away win against JWL basement boys Whitchurch United last Thursday night at Longmeadow in the opening round of the North Hants Senior Cup.
In the second round of the Hants Intermediate Cup both Andover NS 'A' and Winchester City 'A' went out, Street's third string crashing 6-0 at home to Botley Village while City 'A' lost 4-2 away to Havelock Rovers.
In the one league game to be played, Broughton Res gained sweet revenge for a 6-0 bashing at Tadley Res earlier in the season with a 6-1 home victory.
A a much improved home side led 2-0 at athe break with goals from Joel McCormack and Callum Robertson. Tadley did pull a goal back but it was mostly one-way traffic in Broughton's favour in the second halfwith with further goals coming from Tony Mills, Gavin Fayer-Honour, Steve Morgan and Jamie Bowditch to notch their first NHL points of the season.
