Terry Drake and Geoff Feilder made it a great day for the amateurs when the Hampshire Alliance made their first visit to Weybrook Park for the Presidents Putter - a 27-hole greensome stableford competition.
Drake (Marriott Meon Valley) and Feilder (Corhampton) accumlated 42 points in the morning session then another 18 to finish comfortably ahead of two teams on 56, Dave Butcher and Kevin Taylor (Petersfield) and Brian Bellamy (Alresford) and Bob Lucas (Rowlands Castle).
It was a special day for Butcher who aced the 184-yard 12th hole with a five wood. It was his first-ever hole in one.
In the pro-am section the winners' 60 points was matched by Royal Winchester pairing Steven Hunter and Howard Brace. They were three points ahead of Ryan Hicks (Test Valley) and Dennis Rowles (Sandford Springs).
