HAMPSHIRE-based consultancy, CHN Public Relations has been contracted to raise the national profile of the fight against organised crime.

After a successful pilot to publicise the increase in high-value lorry load and container theft, CHN Public Relations will be working with Hampshire-based international security consultants PLC, the Metropolitan Police and industry partners to focus on these major criminal incidents.

The consultancy based in Fareham is currently involved in the first HGV Crime Solutions Show, organised this month by PLC. Scotland Yard assistant commissioner David Veness will talk about the move to combat high-value thefts supporting organised crime and terrorism.

CHN public relations director Peter Doble said the company had been recently working intensively with the national broadcast media and specialist programmes such as Crimewatch. "It is a great tribute to be chosen for this vital campaign," he said. "Thefts and hijackings of valuable cargoes has been increasing through organised groups. We shall be involved in a national programme informing business, police forces and the public including documentaries and security conferences."

It is the latest in a series of account wins for the team. CHN Public Relations has just been retained by the south's leading supplier of embroidered promotional clothing and gifts.

Trademark Clothing has been trading from Portsmouth for more than 20 years. Originally supplying naval uniforms, the company has now diversified into "dressed bears" for corporate and promotional gifts which are exported around the world.

The third account is a London-based telecoms solutions company. Tdotcom Ltd is a fast growing telecoms company with major financial, media and hotel clients in the capital and south-east.
