Southampton Saints are counting the cost after making a wasted trip to Merseyside over the weekend.
The club travelled north on Saturday for an overnight stay ahead of yesterday's scheduled game against Everton in the FA Women's Premier League National Division.
But no sooner had they reached their destination than the game was called off due to a waterlogged pitch and they had to make the long trip south again yesterday morning.
"Obviously we've got to go up there again and whether the FA will cough up the money for that trip, I don't really know," said Saints secretary Jill England. "What with the cost of the coach, accommodation and food, it doesn't come cheap."
Saints are due back in action at home to Charlton Athletic next Sunday. Kick-off is 2pm at Winchester City FC.
