On a day marred by atrocious weather conditions there was still plenty of action and loads of goals. Nowhere more so than at Coal Park Lane where Micky Newell stepped back into the first-team in lethal fashion.

Newell's six goals helped Sporting BTC defeat Braishfield 11-5. Nursling were impressive 7-1 victors at Emsworth with Liam Dyer scoring three. Lyndhurst STJ's had a hard fought 2-1 win against Hamble Aeros, Wayne Allen putting them ahead very early and Rob Lewis sealing their passage.

Jim Hamblin marked his return from injury with a goal as M&T Awbridge won 4-1 at East Cowes with Jon Portlock, Chris Stiles and Dave Kemp also on target. Netley Central won 3-1 at Tadley with Dave Ashley, Darren Morris and an own goal responsible. Hamble Club also won by the same score at Grant Thornton (Portsmouth) with Scott Thomas, Jim Murray and Indi Coleman doing the business.

Blackfield & Langley Reserves pulled off a big shock, defeating DC FC 2-1 after extra time. Gareth Lewis opened the scoring and Danny Mockridge hit the extra time winner, but it was 'keeper Lee Mitchener who was the hero saving a penalty.

Romsey Town were also on the receiving end, falling 4-3 at AFC Target whose Darren Walker hit a hat-trick. Eastleigh Reserves won their all-Combination tie with Havant & Waterlooville Reserves 3-1. Hedge End were impressive 5-2 winners at Burridge Sports, but Otterbourne fell 3-4 at home to Redlynch despite a brace from Brian Ryves.

Rob Deacon of Botley Village was another triple marksman as Andover New Street were crushed 6-0. Underdogs Capital, from Senior 2 of the local league, travelled to Alton Utd Youth and came back with a great 3-2 win despite going down to ten men. Dave Watson scored twice with a Mike Tudgay goal sandwiched in between.
