BRADING Town suffered the agonies and Lymington Town enjoyed the ecstasies of the Hampshire Senior Cup last Saturday.
Bewildered Brading crashed to a record-breaking 15-2 defeat against Alton Town, who are finding their feet in the Jewson Wessex League after claiming the Hampshire League title last season.
Lymington, in contrast, savoured their best win of the season - a 5-4 success at AFC Totton who are unbeaten in the Jewson Wessex League.
Brading were undone by Dave Bridger and Ian Dyer, who scored nine goals between them. Brian Wood and Lewis Field weighed in with doubles and to compound Brading's agony, they had player sent off with 15 minutes to go.
But by then they were already 11 down. Alton did most of the damage in the first-half when they scored seven times.
Lymington bounced back to form after a recent lean run in the Hampshire League. They went a goal behind at Totton but by half-time Bill Stride (2) and James Clarke had lifted them into a 3-2 lead. Malc Barry, from the penalty spot, and Steve Jenkins, with his first goal in five years for Lymington, lifted the county league side into a 5-2 lead before Totton clawed back two in injury time to make it a nail-biting finale.
Evans gave Pirelli General a deserved 1-0 lead against BAT but the Wessex League side equalised straight after the break then former Pirelli midfielder Robbie Clarke put them ahead for the first time. In the end BAT's superior fitness told and they added two more goals in the last minute.

Bishop's Waltham are steaming up the Premier Division table after chalking up their fifth successive win against bottom club Fawley at the Esso Sports Ground. Neil Williams, converted from sweeper to striker by new Fawley manager Kev Jones, scored twice, but doubles from Pete Williams and Craig Rickman and another from Andy Nash gave Bishop's an emphatic 5-2 victory after the first half had been fairly even.
Former bottom side Aldermaston are clawing their way out of the basement after a win and a couple of draws in recent weeks. They held Petersfield 3-3 at Love Lane after Kevin Holland (2) and Gavin Keogh (penalty) had given the home side the lead going into the last minute of the game.
Hayling United won 1-0 at Micheldever to stay top of Division 1 but Colden Common are hot on their heels after a storming 7-0 win at Alresford. Chris Sanger, in for the off-colour Dean Higgins, and midfielder James Atterbury each scored twice in the first 20 minutes then Simon Stillwell, Jason Stock and Ben Arnold put the lid on Common's best performance of the season.
