REGULARS at a Hampshire pub tucked into a banquet of award-winning sausages - knowing they were raising cash for a cause very close to their landlord's heart.
Dozens of people packed into the Rising Sun in Swanmore to raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust - and to celebrate the Great British Banger.
The fundraising dinner was the brainchild of pub landlord and landlady, Ferdiland and Karen Lechner.
Their 22-month-old daughter, Angela, suffers from the life-threatening condition which causes mucus to build-up on the lungs and digestive system.
On the menu were sausages dished-up by Hampshire champion butchers - R Owton of Southampton. The butchers supplied the bangers for free. They included their prize-winning pork sausage which was dubbed supreme sausage champion at this year's Hampshire Fayre.
Guests could also feast on mouth-watering Cumberland and Duck and Hoisin bangers. Vegetables at the feast were also supplied for free by Shergolds based in West End.
Regulars at the pub have raised around £4,000 for Angela over the past two years.
Karen said: "Owton are our local butchers. I can't thank them enough."
