NEWS at Ten star Sir Trevor McDonald will be presenting the awards in the government's Age Positive campaign, which is being backed by the Daily Echo.
There will be honours for individuals and companies who are leading the way in being age positive.
It is the third year that the Daily Echo has backed the campaign, which aims to tackle age discrimination in the workplace and is being spearheaded by Minister of State for Pensions Ian McCartney.
Last year the paper celebrated a hat-trick with winners in both the individual and company sections plus the judges' special mention.
Sir Trevor will present the latest Age Positive awards in a glittering ceremony in London in early December.
The 62-year-old broadcaster knight personifies the fact that age is no barrier to remaining at the top of your profession.
Enlisting the services of one of Britain's best--known and respected news presenters is a real scoop for the Age Positive campaign.
A campaign spokesman said: "Sir Trevor is in our target age group and a mature worker at the peak of his profession. We are delighted that he is able to attend."
Sir Trevor is sympathetic to the aims of the Age Positive campaign and in its fight against ageism, which costs the nation billions of pounds.
He is among a galaxy of celebrities giving star-studded support to the campaign.
Others include actor Richard Wilson who as Victor Meldrew was TV's most famous pensioner, always ready to fight for the cause of grey power.
