STOCKBRIDGE Carnival Committee has donated £3,000 to the Nick Jonas Ward at the Royal Hampshire County Hospital in Winchester.
More than 2,000 people attended the annual carnival procession and show in July, one of the biggest held in the village so far with four arenas offering non-stop entertainment. Funds were also topped up with jumble sales, a Christmas fair and a vintage working weekend.
Chairman of the committee Dave Watts said the hospital ward was chosen to benefit from the carnival as many of the committee's friends had used it to undergo chemotherapy treatment.
"We raised a lot more than we expected and the hospital were very pleased with the donation," he said.
Other organisations also received donations from the carnival funds. Stockbridge Football Club received £400 and £100 was given to Ever-greens, an over 60s club in the village.
